SFI PI Project
SFI Principal Investigator Project - Developing a Global Software Development Framework for the Medical Device Industry
This is a five year project funded by Science Foundation Ireland through their Principal Investigator programme (Project Number: 08/IN.1/I20300). The project will enable Dr Mc Caffery to grow the medical device software research area funded by the SFI Stokes Lectureship Programme. Dr Mc Caffery is the Principal Investigator on this project.
This research project will integrate GSD research with software process assessment and improvement research when developing a software process improvement framework for use in the MD industry. This project will deliver a safety-critical GSD framework for the MD software industry. This project will also make a significant contribution to the development of an International Process Assessment Model for Medical Device Software Development (Medi SPICE), and the team are collaborating with the ISO/IEC 15504 and Medical Device communities in relation to this. Dr Mc Caffery is the International project leader for the development of Medi SPICE. This project commenced in September 2009.
