Lero Researcher wins UL teaching award

As part of the First Seven Weeks initiative, the University of Limerick asks new students to identify the teacher who has had the most positive effect on their learning within the early weeks of their time at UL.
Dr. Chris Exton, of UL’s Department of Computer Science and Information Systems has topped the poll this year. Chris is a prominent Lero member and works with the research team on the TAAAPOS project, investigating techniques for porting software from a serial computing environment to run on a massively parallel supercomputer. He has a long history of collaborative research with industry and has been a Visiting Scientist with IBM. His research focuses on how software tools, theories, cognitive models and strategies are used by software engineers to facilitate their understanding of software systems.
