Industry Outreach
Lero’s industry function is tasked with establishing collaborative projects between industry and Lero’s researchers. To achieve this, we must bring Lero’s competencies and achievements to the attention of the software industry. This is done by a variety of means:
Publishing in Trade Journals

Lero has featured in several Irish trade publications, including Business & Finance, the Engineers’ Journal and Enterprise Ireland’s Technology Ireland journal. These articles describe research projects completed by Lero and our industry partners. They also promote Lero’s industry events and future activities. Topics to date have covered: software processes for very small entities; the attractions of industry-academic collaboration;tailored agile methods; global software development; assurance, security and trust in software systems,as well as ethicsand professionalism.
Industry Events
Lero has been hosting industry events since 2007. These provide a showcase not only for Lero researchers, but also our industry partners. Each event presents recent research and experiences from practice, showing how theory and practice are complimentary. To date, all these events have been free to attend and provide excellent networking opportunities.

Publicity Materials and Trade Stands
We also are responsible for producing publicity materials that describe Lero and its research competencies. When Lero has a presence at an exhibition, an industry liaison is usually present at the Lero stand, often accompanied by a subject matter expert.

Lero Training Courses and Workshops
Lero has entered into an agreement with Oghma, a Dublin-based training company, to provide training courses and workshops based on Lero’s world-leading software development process research. Click here for more information on the partnership and the training courses available.
