The Industry Advisory Board will work with the Centre management to ensure that research is relevant to industry, that all commercialisation opportunities are being pursued, that shared research is progressing well, and that the Centre is fully appraised of new opportunities and requirements emerging in the commercial sector. Membership of the board reflects both proven relationships and also companies with whom Lero is keen to reinforce collaboration:

Dr Sean Baker(Chief Corporate Scientist - Iona)

Sean Baker (Executive Chairman) is an entrepreneur based in Dublin.He is a co-founder of IONA Technologies, and held many executive positions in the company including CTO, Chief Scientist and Senior Vice President of Customer Services. He is a regular speaker on middleware and related business issues. He is a member of the Boards of National Digital Research Centre, Delta Index, Calom and Gridstore; he was the Chairman of the Irish Software Association from 2009 to 2011, and is a member of the Advisory Science Council, CIO Ireland and the Lero and ICHEC Advisory Boards. He is an Adjunct Professor at the UCD School of Computer Science and Informatics. He was a member of the Board of Havok and the Object Management Group. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin, and held a tenured post in the Department of Computer Science at TCD, where he helped form the Distributed Systems Group in 1980.

Mr Martin Curley (Senior Principal Engineer and Global Director Intel)

Martin Curley is Senior Principal Engineer and Global Director of IT Innovation at Intel Corporation managing a network of Intel® IT Innovation centres developing advanced IT solutions. Previously Martin held a number of IT Management positions for Intel including Director of IT Strategy and Technology based in Sacramento, California and Fab14 Automation Manager based in Dublin, Ireland. Martin has also held IT management positions at General Electric in Ireland and Philips in the Netherlands. Martin has a degree in Electronic Engineering and a Masters in Business Studies from University College Dublin, Ireland. Martin is author of “Managing Information Technology for Business Value” published by Intel Press in January 2004 and now in its third re-print.

Mr Harald Jochen Hönninger (Vice President, Corporate Research and Advance Development)

Harald Jochen Hönninger is Vice President, Corporate Research and Advance Development with ROBERT BOSCH GMBH, Germany.  Previously he was Vice President, Software Intensive Systems and Director, Software Systems and Integration
